Every level will be able to reduce the amount water slows the player by ⅓. It includes lowering the speed at which flowing water pushes you once still standing. An armor stand that carries armor enchanted with a Depth Strider also will move more slowly once being pushed by water.
Level 3 allows the players to swim as fast as walking on land. Apparently, any higher level has no effect on speed. Aside from that, at level 3, a speed potion also affects the player’s swimming the same as walking. Usually, Depth Strider can be applied only to boots.
But, using commands, this armor enchantment still works if applied to other types of armor such as a helmet. So, we are able to say that Depth Strider makes you swim faster. It increases underwater movement speed.

Incompatibilities of Depth Strider
You have to know that Depth Strider and Frost Walker are mutually exclusive. But, if combined by using commands, both armor enchantments function normally.
For your information, Frost Walker is an enchantment to boots which makes frosted ice blocks once walking over water. It causes the wearer to be immune to damage from certain blocks like the campfires and magma blocks when stepped on.
Also, Frost Walker eliminates all damage from magma blocks and campfires (but not lava). If the boots are enchanted with the Frost Walker that are put on an armor stand which is pushed by a slime or a honey block onto water, so the Frost Walker will work as normal on the armor stand.
Aside from that, enchanted boots with Frost Walker is able to be applied on foxes when held. This is a treasure enchantment which can be earned only from chest loot, raid drops, fishing, or trading for enchanted books.
